Paul Reeping — I am running to be a captain in D10 because it is truly an honor and a privilege to be able to lead a team and help to build community in Gotham. So many of us come to Gotham not only for the sport, but also for the opportunity to meet others and develop relationships in a city that at times can feel isolating. As a D11 captain in Spring 2022, I was successful in creating a team that to this day still supports each other in many ways. As a captain, I strongly—to an almost annoying level—believe that the ultimate goal is to have fun, and winning is just a fortunate consequence of having fun. And I also strongly believe that an essential part of team and community building is through unrelenting support and celebrating everyone, no matter how poorly or perfectly they played in a game. And when that occurs, both individuals and the team grow, and ultimately—they win 😊
