Josue Avendano Reyes–Hey everyone! I’m Josue, and I’m excited to run for captain again 🙂 I want to create an environment where people feel welcome, supported, and, most importantly, have fun. Teamwork and uplifting each other are super important to me, and I always aim to stay approachable. Let’s make this next season amazing together!

Thomas Patterson–I have loved playing volleyball ever since high school and I owe my love and dedication to the sport to my captains during that time. Now present day playing Gotham, I want to be that person who helped me fall in love with the sport. I know that I can captain and fantastic team of enthusiastic and dedicated teammates who will have the most fun while playing on my team. Gotham has been an amazing experience and I want to help foster that in others as well.

HARRIS Mendez–As a first time Captain for Fall2024, I’d say my vision to win and to have fun is achieved. Me and my amazing team created memories, we’re so cute & great in the court, our dedication+heart+teamwork helped us win & learn, and had support from friends in Gotham Volleyball. All of these inspired me to be better and will be one again should I’ll be given the chance to be D10 Captain again on Spring 2025. Well done yall this season, we made it colorful! <3

Jason Grobstein–Being part of this community over the past two years has been an incredibly rewarding experience, largely thanks to the friendships I’ve built along the way. My aim as captain is to continue creating a supportive and inclusive environment where we can enjoy the game, grow as players, and form connections both on and off the court. I’m all about creating a positive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and motivated. Thank you for considering me as your D10 captain!

Joe Mignano–I joined Gotham 9 years ago and have had the opportunity to serve as a Captain more than times during my time with Gotham. I have also been fortunate to be elected to the Board of Directors for a third 2-year term. On the Board, I currently Co-Chair the Operations Committee and am responsible for ensuring our facilities have functioning equipment and supplies. Co-Chairing has given me opportunities to contribute in new ways and an appreciation for all the work so many do to keep us playing each week. I have played in Divisions 8, 9, 10, and 11 with Gotham. This season I had the opportunity to play in Division 10 again which is the Division I first played in and have spent most of my time in. It would a privilege to have the opportunity to be a captain in Division 10 for the Spring season. I greatly enjoy bringing a team together, where everyone is encouraged, supported, and have positive experiences. If you believe that I would make a good Captain, uphold Gotham’s values and create a welcoming and inclusive environment for the Division, along with the other Captains in Division 10, I would greatly appreciate you voting for me. Thanks.

Paul Rosenberg–I was a captain for D10 in the past and I had such a great experience that I am eager to be a captain again! As a captain I do my best to hear my team’s input and I always welcome them to voice their opinions or suggestions. I believe a team that is confident, supportive, cohesive, and willing to learn makes for a great season regardless if we win. That is the type of team I have fostered in the past and hope to do so this season.

Mitt Schwartz–This was my first season as captain and I am hoping to return next season. When I decided to run for captain last season, my goal was to foster a team that improved every week, got along on and off the court, and displayed the positive sportsmanship Gotham strives for. I could not have been happier with the end result. That being said, I learned a lot this fall and would be honored to have the opportunity to use what I learned to again be a captain in D10.

Peter Englert–My favorite part of playing in Gotham is being able to connect with so many of you through open plays, season games, and post-play hangs. I like being organized, I like cheering, and I like bringing a team together. After serving as a captain previously, and taking a break this season, I would love the opportunity to serve again and bring a team together for an exciting season. I would appreciate your consideration and vote!

Kendall VanAmburg–Hi D10!! I would love the opportunity to be a D10 captain after having such an amazing fall season, and currently serving as the D10 Rep (Ambassador 😉)! I am SO proud of not only the fun, friendly vibes of D10, but also the high level of competitive play. As Captain, my goal will be to foster community both within our team and the division, while also encouraging each player to seek opportunities for growth in their volleyball skills. I’m so thankful for what this community has been to me and I’m even more excited for the future!

PABLO MADRIZ–¡Hola guapos y guapas! As a proud gay Mexican immigrant, I understand firsthand the importance of inclusivity. That is why as a Captain, I will work to ensure that D10 is welcoming and inclusive to all. I look forward to using my energy and enthusiasm, combined with my ability to bring people together, to create an exciting space where our various backgrounds, experiences and skills are celebrated- both on and off the court. I also hope to work with other Captains to facilitate interdivisional socials to build bridges across Gotham. Thank you for your support! Un fuerte abrazo.

Shayne De Lima–Hi, I’m Shayne De Lima. I’ve played in Division 10 for many seasons with many of you wonderful folks. Being Team Captain would be a terrific honor, and I would really appreciate your vote. As many of you know, I’m a happy-go-lucky person that loves to laugh on the court. I often find myself high-fiving not only my teammates but those on the opposing team. I’d like to create a team that fosters positivity, inclusivity, and mutual respect. Let’s create a happy, cohesive group that shares ideas, supports each other and grows our skills together. Let’s have some fun!
