Peter Magee–I am running for captain because I am deeply passionate about both the sport and the incredible people who play it. My goal is to create a positive, supportive team environment where everyone feels valued and be themselves. I’m committed to helping each player improve, thrive, and have A lot of fun on and off the court.

Laurel Dillon–a star on the court and an absolute FREAK in the (google) sheets, d11 it would be an honor to make a comeback as your captain next season <3 xoxo

Kyle McCleary–Win or lose we’re all here to have fun…but winning is more fun. 😜 I have a passion when it comes to volleyball but this is my first time trying for captain. I recently was encouraged to try a new position and it was the best thing ever. So time for a new position if nominated. Thank you for your support and votes

Julius Magee–I joined Gotham over eight years ago, before D11 existed, and I’m grateful it does now. I truly enjoy the sense of community and the social connections it fosters. As captain, I’m excited to continue promoting a season filled with support, enthusiasm, and fun, while strengthening teamwork and partnership within D11.

Apurva Desai–I’m excited to run for captain next season! Joining Gotham after moving to NYC was one of the best decisions I could have made. It’s the first queer organization I’ve been part of and I’m grateful to have found a supportive community that values friendship as much as it does a sense of play and competition. As a former Power Play captain, I know how rewarding it is to build a strong, connected team. I’m eager to bring that same energy and commitment to D11 next season while continuing to strengthen the sense of community that makes Gotham so special!

Jecamiah (Jackie) Ybanez–When I moved to NYC, the Gotham Volleyball League welcomed me with open arms, offering not just a place to play but a vibrant, supportive community. Over time, I’ve built connections and friendships thanks to leaders who’ve created a fun, inclusive atmosphere. As a captain, I’m inspired to continue this work, ensuring new members experience the same sense of belonging that has meant so much to me. By fostering camaraderie and teamwork, we can build on this incredible legacy and keep our community thriving for seasons to come. Together, let’s make Gotham Volleyball even stronger!

Shannon Carter Norris–🎶My Dear D11, it has been my honor and pleasure to serve as captain these past 2 seasons, and I’d like your consideration to do it again, yes.🎶 I am proud to put the lgBtQ and + in our wonderful organization, I have tried to build a legacy of community on and off the court, to continually diversify the draft as a reflection of the broader community, and to empower my teammates and peers. I have learned so much on this journey and want to share that with others, your vote means a lot to me and I will do all that I can to honor that in return- to show you I’m always on your side.⚜️

Matthew Spellings–In the span of just over a year since I moved to New York, Gotham has been a wonderful source of new friends and volleyball skill development. Based on the two seasons I have played, Division 11 is positioned in a perfect place to give its members a chance to have great social interactions, some fun competition, and the opportunity to further improve their skills. It would be my honor to give back to the community in my own way by promoting these values, serving as a captain!
