Division 11 Captains Candidates
Players in Division 11 will be voting from May 6th, 2026 through 11:59 PM on May 10th, 2026 to elect captains for the Fall 2026 Division Play Season as well as Team All Stars for the Spring 2026 Division Play Season. If you play in Division 11 and have not received a ballot after 2 PM on May 6th, please e-mail elections@gothamvolleyball.org.

Alan Jean
Hi all, here I am running for captain again. As always I plan on making Gotham feel like a warm and inviting space that welcomes all and plan on serving and serving (puns!!!) an amazing and fun season for all. Take a chance on me what’s the worst that can happen lol.
Andy Nguyen
I’ve been part of D11 for several years and have always enjoyed the community. This group of potential captains seems especially fun and engaging, and I’d love the opportunity to help make Fall 2026 a season that’s social, competitive, and enjoyable for everyone!
EJ Meehan
Gotham has become an incredible part of my life and that is thanks in no small part to the many amazing captains I've had. I want to be that person for others and give back to this community. My goal is make a team where people can have fun, get better, support each other, and make reasonable decisions for the rest of Saturday. Also I just really like coming up with cheers.

I am a huge fan of D11. I want to keep up the fun, camaraderie, community, and good game play in the division. I'm all about the positive energy and loud cheers!

This league has meant the world to me the last 4 years, with division games, open plays, and friendship tournaments (or brunches…) alike. I went from entering Gotham with zero experience + knowing nobody in PowerPlay, to loudly cheering for my team on the court and making lifelong friendships. As a captain, I will do everything I can to pay it forward by providing opportunities for learning and community. And cute team shirt designs. But the most important thing I CAN guarantee is that you’ll have fun! :)

Hey divas!! I just completed my second season of Gotham D11 and I cannot get enough. It is the highlight of my week and the best way to spend a Saturday in the city! The community Gotham provides has made my first year in NYC so special and I would love the chance to share that love as a captain. I feel that I will bring fun, supportive energy to my team and look forward to the chance for us to grow as players and people together. Let's have another season full of new friends and volleyball!!

I'm here to make D11 one of the best experience folks have for new and veterans alike. I've served as a captain in PowerPlay, and with my leadership, we conducted the first EOS dinner that PowerPlay now continues to do. I want to make sure we plan the right social events, team practices, and brunches. I've made lifelong friends here and hope Fall 2026 will be even better.

To me, leadership in this division is more than athletic guidance; it is about fostering an environment for holistic growth—personal, emotional, and physical. Gotham has supported me on my own journey of empowerment and I can only aspire to be able to do the same for others. My goal is to translate my consistent enthusiasm and positivity into actionable support, ensuring every player feels encouraged and motivated to bring their best to the court.

I’m running for captain again because I love bringing people together and building a team that’s welcoming and energizing. Winning matters, but so does making sure players are encouraged, included, and able to improve. I make a point to connect with each teammate individually and get their perspectives throughout the season. As captain I think it’s important to hear what my team has to say so we can play smarter, hit harder, and have a damn good time. Pratishta (Tish) Yerakala
I started volleyball two years ago because I’ve always wanted to play a team sport. At Gotham, I’ve been super lucky to be on fabulous and well-led teams. I’ve learned a ton, but more importantly, I realized how fun and empowering it is to play together, as one. Sharing our wins and losses (on and off the court) really endears me to this community. I believe that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and I hope to prove it on the court. My intention as a captain is to help foster a season that’s diverse, competitive, and engaging.

Quite simply, I think I’d be a good captain. Gotham has given me both community and confidence in myself as an athlete. I’d like to give the same to others and put together a team that plays hard and whose laughter carries from the court to the brunch table.

I’m running for captain to create an unforgettable experience and strong sense of community for our team. My previous seasons in Gotham were memorable because of the captains who made sure everyone felt included and had fun. I want to be a great captain for my team, just like they were for me. While I deeply value the social aspect of the game, I’m also committed to winning. I always strive to give my best on the court and want to inspire my team to do the same. Being with Gotham for a couple of years, I’m ready to lead us to victory and fun.
